After receiving an astonishing collection of pictures from a casual north of the border, there was no other option but to give him his own page, this is a collection that will take some beating to be topped, and probably the best collection of footwear you're ever likely to see. 'Kerso' from Motherwell, a name I'd seen mentioned in the Neil Heard 'Trainers' book, and some time later I'd got in contact with him on the 80's casuals forum, after a few messages on the board we finally got something arranged where he could show off a collection well worth showing off and we'd get another little casual gallery for our 'celebration of casual culture'! everyone's a winner! on seeing the collection of trainers and clobber I almost thought he needed to come under a 'name' you cannot simply have spent all that time, effort and coinage on all that gear and not be thought of as a collector, or even an obsessive but just like you and me it's a simple story...

"I've Classified myself as a Casual since 1983. Most definitely NOT a collector. A collector to me will buy something to complete a set or because of it's rarity value or kudos in having it. I only ever buy clothes or trainers that I like and more importantly, to wear. Luckily enough my size hasn't changed too much and I don't wear too many things out so I can still wear stuff that's 20+ years old."
*R Newbold ( a division of Paul Smith ) one of the first things I spotted on the picture below was this 'digital camoflague' jacket, something I've tried to source since seeing it in a Loaded fashion shoot in 2000, they actually never mass produced it and only made three, one which stayed in the archives at Paul Smith, one the photographer kept, and one which after some telephoning the marketing debt and parting with £150 ended up in the wardrobe that's on display here!
