a site which doesn't take itself too seriously, a site for us and a site for them, a site that's occasionally snobby, it doesn't like bandwagons, poncery and pretense, it's not about fashion or fads, or trying too hard, but a lifestyle.
Oneupmanship is in the city and the country, Oneupmanship rides on two wheels, walks on crepe soles. Oneupmanship is setting trends and not following them, Oneupmanship is not giving a fuck, not about buying the latest six hundred pound jacket just to fit in.
The long term motto of this site has always been to lead and not follow, it's about evolving, it's about progression, being at least a yard or two ahead of the masses, being laughed at for trying something different. Doing your own thing.
Oneupmanship's origins were a football casual site, the most original in it's field. This was dedicated in particularly vivid detail to explaining an often vilified way of life, a working class sub-culture seldom understood by so many.
Times change however, and things ultimately move on, putting a lot of heart and soul into it and millions of hits later, I had to carry this thing on, but over the last few years with a more refined approach.
The Journal is the live part of this site, updated weekly to a really positive response. I obsess over many things, be it clothes, film, music, bikes, art and even what I drink, genuine passion through a genuine love of it all, loose lips sank many a ship, but I'm happy to share the things I like, often in filthy dirty close up detail.
